I'm a Salt Lake City photographer focusing on beauty and movement-based photography for dancers and commercial clients.
A love of dance came first, when at age three, I decided my future career would be in ballet. I've been dancing ever since. Photography came a few years later when I got my first camera. I was fascinated at the process and complexity behind the simple click of a button, and pored over the prints my mom would develop and share with me. As I became a regularly performing dancer, I grew to appreciate the transformative power of makeup, and how it complements in the face the expressive power of the body.
I can’t remember a time when makeup, dance and photography weren't in my life, so photographing beauty and movement feels like the most natural culmination of those worlds.
My experience as a dancer allows me to position and depict dancers in a technically correct manner, and more importantly, has left me with a deep understanding of the inner emotional journey of a dancer: I know what it's like to feel the thrill of performance, the frustration of limitations, and the crushing beauty of it all.
I work with dancers individually to capture them in the prime of their craft, and commercially to capture movement and beauty for advertising and brands. I'm available locally and nationwide. Contact me to discuss how we can work together.
